The Education Resources Awards (ERA awards) are now in their 19th successful year and are firmly established as the premier annual event to celebrate outstanding success for the suppliers and teaching professionals of the education sector throughout the UK. And this year, we are thrilled to have been shortlisted in the “Collaboration with a School” category, for our work with Oakfield Academy.
The awards highlight and reward the quality and diversity of educational products, resources, services and people as well as the best educational establishments and the most dedicated members of the teaching profession. The ERA awards aim to encourage the raising of educational services & product standards throughout the industry, which is so important in a time where teachers are battling high workloads, stretched budgets, and large mixed ability classes from a huge range of backgrounds.
We work with Oakfield Academy to help Year 7 students who were below target in their Year 6 SATs. The students receive weekly online lessons in English and Maths, ensuring that they have the support they need to catch up with their peers. Since they first collaborated with MyTutor at the beginning of 2017, Oakfield have seen big changes in students’ attainment and enjoyment of learning.
“My English tutor has helped me with my reading, my confidence, my spelling, and my writing as well. It makes me feel confident – if I go wrong I don’t give up like I used to, I just try again.”
We now work with 300+ schools in the UK, and are proud to be supporting school pupils to boost their learning through online one-to-one tuition that delivers results. On average, a student getting a term’s MyTutor tuition makes double the progress of their peers. Teachers also report an 80% increase in confidence and engagement in lessons. Take a look at our Impact Report for more info.
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the ICC in Birmingham on Friday 22nd March. We’d like to say a huge congratulations to all finalists – and good luck on the night!
