Covid-19, school closures & continued learning: We’re here to help

Now that schools have been closed in light of the Covid-19 outbreak, we’re hearing from many school leaders who are concerned about how to provide learning continuity for their students – especially for those who now face a potential 6 months without attending school ahead of important exam years.

At MyTutor, we’re here to help, with extra online learning support and resources during this difficult period – here’s how.

The MyTutor Online School

We’ve now launched our free MyTutor Online School, where we’ll be sharing daily lunchtime live group tutorials, as well as short explainer videos and written resources, covering common tricky topics across a range of GCSE subjects. These are completely free for pupils to access – they just need to register for sessions to receive a Zoom conference link.

The planned programme over the coming weeks spans GCSE Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology topics, from how to analyse poem structure to understanding chemical bonds. Check out one of our recent sessions below:

One-to-one online tuition

If you’re interested in individual support for a specific cohort, we provide flexible online one-to-one tuition in Core Subjects across KS4/5. And while schools are closed, we’re offering a free headset for every pupil enrolled – so they’ll have the right tech to kick off their lessons.

Here’s a quick overview of how it works:

  • One-to-one lessons can take place at home or in school, via our interactive Online Lesson Space
  • Minimal tech requirements to get started: pupils just need a laptop, stable internet connection and microphone
  • Delivered by subject specialist undergraduate tutors from the UK’s top universities
  • Easy to manage through our online teacher portal – upload resources and view pupil attendance data, tutor feedback and scheduled lessons
At this challenging time, our programmes:

  • Set Y10s up for success going into GCSEs
  • Support Y11s with the transition to A-Level & Sixth Form
  • Prepare Y12s for their A-Levels
  • Give Y13s a leg-up before they take their next step
  • Lighten workload for teachers having to remain in school
  • Boost engagement for key worker and vulnerable children in school
If you’d like to find out more about our free online school, or how to access our one-to-one online tuition, please do get in touch – you can drop a line to or give us a call on 0203 773 6025.
