About me

Hi, I'm Michael, a 4th year Engineering Science student at the University of Oxford. I'm really passionate about my degree because it has enabled me to see the applications for the maths and physics I'd studied at A-level, and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone considering it! My A-Levels were in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and I also did an AS in French and an EPQ. My A-Levels were in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and I also did an AS in French and an EPQ. Whilst at sixth form college, in my A2 year, I was employed to tutor a student through the AS maths course, particularly mechanics modules, which I have found to be good fun to tutor as the real-world applications are more immediately apparent.

Away from engineering, I spend most of my spare time at various ice rinks, having taken up ice hockey at university- not words that I ever thought I'd type! If you're thinking about having tuition, feel free to drop me a message!

About my sessions

My sessions are very much tailored to what it is that you require, but my preferred way to work is to spend the first half of the session going over a few questions from last time, and then the second half, going over some concepts, before setting some questions for the start of the next session. That way, if the problems are attempted, and you can 'explain back to me' how it is that you've solved them, we can both be confident that you have understood the topic correctly, which i...

That way, if the problems are attempted, and you can 'explain back to me' how it is that you've solved them, we can both be confident that you have understood the topic correctly, which is great! However, if there's another way that you'd rather run the sessions, do shout up, because the lessons are for you, and everyone learns differently!
