About me

Hello there!

My name is Keshana, and I am currently a 3rd year Dental student at King's College London. A couple of years ago, I was a GCSE/A-Level student just like one of you guys, and I completely understand the stresses you must be facing, especially around this time of the year when exams are nearing. This is why I thought I'd be good as a tutor, and I know I will help you all achieve the best you can whilst not dreading 'revision'...

Hello there!

My name is Keshana, and I am currently a 3rd year Dental student at King's College London. A couple of years ago, I was a GCSE/A-Level student just like one of you guys, and I completely understand the stresses you must be facing, especially around this time of the year when exams are nearing. This is why I thought I'd be good as a tutor, and I know I will help you all achieve the best you can whilst not dreading 'revision' or 'tuition'. I am bubbly, friendly and I dance in my spare time. I am a person who believes that a social life is also very important as well as being academically talented.

I try to make my online lessons friendly and chilled, because when I was a student, I really hated learning subjects with a strict tutor. I love teaching Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and its something I miss studying at school (although university does incorporate it a little, it will never be the same as learning it in school!). I believe you have to be passionate about a subject in order to excel at teaching it, and this is why I promise to make you all achieve your potential. I look forward to meeting you!

About my sessions

I believe that it is important to learn in a chronological order, according to the specification (syllabus) of a specific examination board. I believe that it is important to learn in a chronological order, according to the specification (syllabus) of a specific examination board. I will adapt the online sessions to your examination board (OCR/AQA/Edexcel). The specification is very useful to identify what exactly that you need to know for your exams. However, I strongly believe that it is important to ensure a student understands a concept, instead of trying to fit a lot of concepts into one online lesson- if a student decides to learn a certain topic, that isn't particularly following the chronological order of a certain subject, then I will be more than happy to teach them this. It is absolutely important to me that these online lessons are giving the students control over what they want to learn.

In terms of preparation for these online sessions, I will find the necessary resources to help you understand concepts better, which can either be in a form of a quiz or past paper questions. For example, 40-45 minutes of a 1 hour session would be teaching, and the rest would be going through questions to consolidate your learning. This used to help me when I was doing my GCSE's and A levels. I will adapt my teaching method after understanding what type of learner my student is. Most importantly, I will try my utter best to make them enjoy the subject that I am teaching!
