About me

I am a student at the University of Exeter studying physics with astrophysics. I've always been interested in science from a very young age and knew I wanted to study it in one form or another. When I reached my GCSE's, my love for physics really began to shine through. As someone who has always had an innate curiousity about the universe, this was a subject that I could just totally get lost in. When I reached my GCSE's, my love for physics really began to shine through. As someone who has always had an innate curiousity about the universe, this was a subject that I could just totally get lost in. However the thing that really tipped me over the edge in my decision to study this subject further, was actually a youtube clip on the topic of wave particle duality. This 90 second cartoon absolutely blew away my 13 year old mind and I just wanted to learn more about this amazing universe we live in.

I truly believe that having a passion for a subject will really make you excel because it pushes you to work hard to achieve your goal and I want to be able to pass on my passion and enjoyment for these subjects to other pupils!

About my sessions

In my opinion the best way to learn physics and maths is by doing as many questions as possible. By practicing questions it becomes much easier to identify weak spots and gaps in knowledge. These gaps can then be easily addressed and rectified.

In order to prepare for the online lessons I'd want to know about specific topics that the student is struggling with or wants help with. Specific concepts can be discussed in detail, along with example questions so the student can see how to...

In order to prepare for the online lessons I'd want to know about specific topics that the student is struggling with or wants help with. Specific concepts can be discussed in detail, along with example questions so the student can see how to tackle the problems. I would also give students chances to go through problems on their own so I could see exactly how they go about dealing with questions they don't necessarily know how to answer straight away. For example, when I tackle a question the first thing I do is identify all the variables the question provides and then from there work out what equations work with those variables. I also find that if a question is tricky to understand then drawing a diagram really helps make the question stand out and helps the student understand exactly what the question is asking.
