About me

I am currently studying Medicine at The University of Sheffield, which I love because it is a varied subject that is both interesting academically and allows me to engage with many different people. I understand the stresses of A levels and applying for a competitive course such as Medicine, therefore I have strategies that I think others would find beneficial. I understand the stresses of A levels and applying for a competitive course such as Medicine, therefore I have strategies that I think others would find beneficial. When I applied to university I received 4 interviews for Medicine and subsequently 4 offers from Sheffield, Newcastle, Leicester and Nottingham, so I have lots of experience of the application process.

During my A levels, I thoroughly enjoyed Chemistry and Biology and I think that attributed to my success, as I had more motivation to study. Hopefully I will be able to encourage more interest in the subject alongside teaching content.

For A level preparation, I think practice questions are a good indicator of progress and should be used alongside specific learning of content to ensure thorough understanding. By combining different learning strategies I think learning can become more interesting and therefore content is more likely to be remembered. My methods for A level revision included mind maps, condensing information and diagrams for explanations as well as specific learning of more complex topics.
