About me

I am a second year Economics student at Durham University with previous experience in Engineering. I have always felt that understanding how the world works is the key to life, and so whether you come to me about Maths, Physics or Economics, I hope that I can trigger your thirst for knowledge. I have tutored high school and secondary school students in Maths, Italian and French so have had experience teaching at GCSE level, but am very keen to teach more complex material at A-level and IB. The sessions will be dedicated to whatever you feel you need to go over or do not understand. As with my attitude towards everything it is very important that you are able to apply and most importantly understand what you have learnt, so the objective is for you to be comfortable enough with the material for it to seem like second nature. From my experience in Engineering I can safely say that the most interesting part of knowledge is its application, so I will feed you little tidbits of information about what you are learning is used for - hopefully you will become as hooked on the subjects as I am. Feel like learning some Italian? I have lived in Italy almost my entire life, so naturally have become fluent over the years. From grammar to the accent you're trying to get, I can help with it all. What's Next? If you have any questions please send me a WebMail or book a 'Meet the Tutor' session with me. Don't hesitate to contact me, I very much look forward to meeting you!

About my sessions

The approach I take when working with students is always very friendly and relaxed. My objective is to make the student feel confident with the material we will go over, so working at the pace of the individual is key. Sessions will comprise of a quick review of the previous session's topics and key points, followed by a short plan of what we hope to achieve in the session itself. I deliver my tutorials in a proactive lecture style - with the explanation of topics I will constantly ask questions to the student to make sure they are keeping up and understand each point I make. Towards the end of the session we will look at some questions relevant to the material and go over key points and concepts. Progress will be measured by setting some questions for homework in between sessions which we will talk over, as well as solving some problems during tutorials so I can have a better idea of the students' thought process.
