About me

Hi! I'm James and I'm a 2nd year studying History at Durham University. I took English, History and Philosophy and Theology at A level and so I have plenty of experience writing essays! I'm extremely passionate about Philosophy, and English, and in particular History. I have always found that properly understanding something, and feeling confident in a subject makes it so much easier to enjoy. I'm extremely passionate about Philosophy, and English, and in particular History. I have always found that properly understanding something, and feeling confident in a subject makes it so much easier to enjoy. I hope that my tutoring will convey my love for the subject which my students will pick up on, but by helping them get to grips with their work they can find that enjoyment in themselves.

I spend a lot of time socialising during my free time, but I find keeping myself active by playing squash and Fives for the university helps me get a good work-life balance! I'm an active member of the Durham Union Society and a keen debater. I'm also a member of the Officer Training Core too, whereby I complete modules to become a qualified reservist infantry solider.

Please feel free to get in touch and we can discuss my lessons and tutoring further and see if it is right for you!

I can help provide notes and structure this process; then I spent the rest of time making effective essay plans. Using the information you have learnt helps solidify it in your memory and d...

I've helped and looked over many people's personal statements and have a good idea of what different Universities are looking for and so I can mentor my students and help them through the university application process too.
