About me

Hi!

I'm an MSc Finance student at Imperial College London with a quantitative undergraduate background from UCL.

I have a flexible teaching approach and a genuine interest in my subjects and making sure students get the most out of their learning experience.

I have taken both Economics and Mathematics in the International Baccalaureate (IB), and have majored in Economics and minored in Mathematics at UCL, providing me with a holistic understanding of both disciplines.

I am bilingual and fluent in Italian, so I can comfortably provide language tutoring.

Having been accepted at UCL, Warwick University, Imperial College London, NYU, Bocconi and KCL for courses including PPE, Economics, Finance and Mathematics I can also provide guidance on personal statements (UK) and college essays (US).

About my sessions

I look forward to 100% catering my teaching approach to each individual student but as an example below are some sample approaches I could take for Mathematics and Economics.

Mathematics:

I would look to spend about 30% of the lesson explaining the logic and derivation behind covered topics and 70% practicing worked examples in different contexts, partly drawing from past papers and relevant material.

One important thing I will focus on throughout is not overlooking the basics of the subject (properties and rules), which can be tedious to remember the first time around, but will be essential to solve the more complex problems the IB presents later on.

Economics:

Given Economics' applied nature, I believe the key to succeeding in the discipline is a balanced mixture of practice and theory.

I would look to spend half the lesson going over the theory and derivation of the approached models and the other half looking at both past exam papers and sample questions as well as real world, unfolding events that relate to the encountered topics (which is useful to cultivate interest for the subject and relevant for the article-dependant IAs).
