Degree: Speech and Language Therapy (Bachelors) - Newcastle University
I am a speech and language therapy student at Newcastle University. I have always had a real passion for both Science and English, and as a Speech and language therapists I assess and treat speech, language and communication problems in people of all ages to help them better communicate. I also work with people who have eating and swallowing problems.
I hope that my tutorials will help students gain better grades and better understanding of their syllabus.
I am friendly, patient and have experience in tutoring Biology and English for students aged 10- 18 abroad. I volunteer as a Brownie Leader, a communication developer for the stoke association and as a swimming teacher for disabled children and adults, so would definitely say I have experienced with helping others.
During the sessions, you will guide what we cover. We will decide which areas of your syllabus you need help with starting with basic understanding then moving on to answering exam questions. For English Literature students the tutorials are also based on the student’s individual interests, ideas and personal writing style which will be identified and developed through regular sessions.
I will use as many different ways (diagrams, words, analogies) as possible to explain a concept, until you are confident enough that you can explain it to me.
I hope the sessions will be fun! A lot can be achieved in 55mins especially if it is made enjoyable. Sciences and English are amazing and hopefully, if you didn’t think that before, you will by the end of the session!
Feel free to send me a 'WebMail' or book a 'Meet the Tutor Session'! (both accessible through this website). Remember to tell me your exam board and what you're struggling with and I will try to answer any questions you may have.
I look forward to meeting you!
