Hey!
I am currently studying Economics and International Relations at the University of Exeter about to move into my third and final year. At school I really enjoyed maths and biology and in particular learning how to think with a clear mind when tackling difficult problems under often relatively heavy time pressure. This is a skill that I wish I’d developed from an earlier age and it would be great to be able to help future students become proficient not only in the knowledge of the course but also in time management: a skill I know is important not just now but at university and life beyond!
Asides from the academics, I am a keen sportsman with a passion for cricket and hockey, as well as dabbling in triathlon (attempting the Antalya Ironman 70.3 this October and slightly scared for it!). I also love to travel and am currently planning a road trip across Norway this summer and a trip to India at some point next year. I hope my friends would describe me as friendly and approachable and I very much look forward to meeting and helping students in the future.

As I realised at school, learning is a completely individual process and something that works for one student may make learning more confusing to another. As a result, lesson plans would range from student to student; as I begin to understand the pupil in a more personal way the lesson plans would begin to become more and more tailored to that student.
In addition, as much as it is important for the student to have an extensive knowledge of the course, it is equally or if not more important to know how the examiner will want to see the answer. This is why I will try and focus on exam technique (whether it’s showing the necessary working or other tricks and tips I learnt from school) to enable the student to pick up as many marks as possible even if they struggle to reach the final answer.
