I achieved a 2:1 (Hons) from Bristol and averaged a 1st in my final year of study and a Commendation in Law at BPP achieving a result in the top 10% of students at the University.

I have previously tutored on a face-to-face basis in the areas: 11+, 13+, English A Level & GCSE, Maths GCSE and Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning.

I am passionate about learning and helping others which is why my tutoring has been so successful in the past. In order to provide the best possible service for the client, I adopt an actively pragmatic and creative approach to my lessons and have the ability to identify and focus on any of the weaker areas in a student’s academic repertoire rather than provide a cursory, superficial rehearsal of the easier sections of a syllabus.

Ultimately, what distinguishes me from many other tutors is my natural ability to quickly build a rapport and trust with people. I pride myself on my ability to work with and relate to my students on a personal level.

Often, an adeptness with the hyperspecialized style study that a university course nurtures does not translate particularly well to a lesson environment which is why I actively tailor my skillset to teaching.

About my sessions

I strive for my students to feel comfortable in what can be a stressful and alien setting. This encourages questions that are uninhibited by awkwardness which facilitates a more relaxed and productive learning environment.

In regard to tracking the progress of each student, I find the most effective strategy is to initially approach student/parent and ascertain any areas of confusion that they are aware that the student is struggling with. Following this, I initially adopt a hands-on approach when working with the student and run through the syllabus in order to identify any areas that I deem to be similarly problematic.

Throughout the course of a/the lesson(s), I will afford the student greater autonomy with their work, enabling their skillset to develop in a transferrable manner which can be thusly applied to problems encountered external to the lesson. This allows the student to independently tackle same issues covered inside the lesson outside of the teaching environment free from external direction. By providing the tools with which to tackle any weak areas and the methods for their application, the student can apply the knowledge learnt in my lessons to any problem of the same kind they encounter in the future, be that homework/exams/professional qualifications or real life.
