As a student of a Russell group university I receive world class education as a result of obtaining high grades and having a great passion for learning. At Uni I also engage in the Politics society and play Women's Basketball where I am the Vice Club Captain.

I am of most help when it comes to predominantly essay based subjects; Geography, Government and Politics, Religious Studies and writing personal statements. For GCSE, I took the complusory subjects as well as RS, Geography, Drama, Business & ICT and for A level I took Geography, Government & Politics, Religious Studies and Core maths. From the experience I have, I know the importance of essay structure and exam technique as well as the more general quality of knowledge of the subject area and so tutor sessions with me will be cohesive and productive in all aspects.

As a person I am easy going, enthusiastic and have a natural passion for learning. These attributes create an environment which is positive and good to learn in. Having a tutor is something that should aid your every day learning and therefore, having an environment which is relaxed to consolidate knowledge will contribute greatly to a students overall progress. Another important thing to note is that mistakes help you learn! So don't be worried about that, I've made plenty over my time.

About my sessions

The first session a student has with me will aim to establish the main areas to focus on, as well as difficulties a student may experience in every day learning. Each session will begin by re-capping the subject area/topic looked at in the previous session by asking the student to go over the main themes and areas looked at.

The first session a student has with me will aim to establish the main areas to focus on, as well as difficulties a student may experience in every day learning. Each session will begin by re-capping the subject area/topic looked at in the previous session by asking the student to go over the main themes and areas looked at.

The main/middle part of a session will be looking at the theme that was decided at the end of the previous session. This means that in-between sessions the student has time to think about key things they want to focus on and I can prepare materials and exam questions to assist the area the student wishes to look at.

At the end of the session, we will recap what has been looked at in the session and decide on the topic for the next session.

Exam technique, essay structure practice and subject knowledge will be central to every session in order to gain practice in working all these elements together to produce cohesive and confident answers in exam situations.

Progress will be monitored lightly on a session to session basis by the student re-capping at the beginning and end of every session. As well as this, the students capability to be more confident with knowledge and technique will grow over every session and hopefully this will be reflected in term time tests and end of year exams.
