About me

I'm Naomi, a 2nd year student at Durham specialising in Human Biology (Biological Anthropology) and Geography, with a passion for Maths.

Below are my qualifications in the subjects that I offer.

Having had experience as a tutor, I know the most exciting part is hearing from a tutee that they got the place at the university they wanted months after their exam. It is incredible to see how students progress and grasp (and even learn to love!) topics they previously found horribly confusing.

Maths:

A* at A Level (OCR MEI)

A at Additional Mathematics (OCR)

A* at GCSE (Edexcel iGCSE)

I offer maths tutoring at all levels.

Geography:

- Studying it at university

A* at A Level (Edexcel)

A* at GCSE (OCR)

I offer tutoring across physical and human geography.

Biology:

- Study Human Biology modules at Durham University and evolutionary Biology

A at A Level (OCR)

A* at GCSE (AQA)

I offer Biology tutoring at all levels.

Weekdays: I am available at various times during the day, Monday - Wednesday evenings

Weekends: I am available daytime on Saturday and Sunday, and also on Saturday evening.

Questions Naomi has answered

What is the cosine rule?

What is it?

The cosine rule is a tool to find the size of an angle or the length of a side in a triangle.

When to use it?

- When we are given 2 sides and an angle

- When we are given 3 sides

How?

For a triangle with sides a,b and c and angles A, B and C the cosine rule can be written as:

a2 = b2 + c2 - 2bc cos A

or

b2 = a2 + c2 - 2ac cos B

or

c2 = a2 + b2 - 2ab cos C
