About me

Hello! My name is Jasmine, and I'm a Law graduate from the University of Edinburgh. I grew up a multi-cultural kid, which meant I was exposed to multiple languages and many cultures from very young. As a result, I became fascinated with overlapping patterns and connections in languages, the history of everything, and how it all fits in together today.

I pursued my lifelong love of everything cultural and studied English Literature, German, and History to A-Level, and finally tied it all together with a Bachelors in Law. I've enjoyed every step of the way, and now I want to inspire that in my tutees!

I strongly believe that the best results come from understanding the roots of a concept and getting to the heart of the topic. While I will always prepare tutees to the best of our combined abilities for the final exam, I aim to teach beyond the syllabus for better understanding of the topic, greater appreciation of its connection with other subjects, and hopefully enthusiasm to continue learning after the exam is done and dusted.

About my sessions

My lessons will be split into thirds.

The first third will be spent going over what has been covered in class, answering questions, clarifying key concepts, and providing additional memory tricks and ideas to really solidify what has been learned. Additionally, if there are any questions from our previous session, we can tackle those too. If there is anything for me to look at, homework-wise or classwork, now is the time to show me!

The second third will be all about past papers and model answers. As the end goal is to ace the final exam, we will work on ideal responses to questions, and looking at the kinds of questions that are asked, and the points you have to hit in your answer to get the maximum marks. This will also provide for learning exam technique, timing, and structuring answers.

The final third is flexible, depending on the needs of the tutee. If there's a concept that's not quite making sense, we can talk it through, look at it from another perspective, and get that nicely squared away. If it's exam season coming soon, we can focus more on hitting those target points for model answers.
