About me

In year 12 I was given the opportunity of a life time and was invited to the selection camp for the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad UK team. Although I did not make it beyond the final ten students, the training and selection process introduced me to the elegance of mathematical physics and the ability to describe the most intricate of phenomenon in a purely quantitative way, and I haven't looked back since. I followed my passion to St. John's College, University of...

Although I did not make it beyond the final ten students, the training and selection process introduced me to the elegance of mathematical physics and the ability to describe the most intricate of phenomenon in a purely quantitative way, and I haven't looked back since. I followed my passion to St. John's College, University of Oxford, where I am currently a second year undergraduate physics student and where I have been able to truly immerse myself in both maths and physics. In the past, I have taught a GCSE astronomy class and led Oxbridge admissions session at my old school, as well as guiding my peers through various exams.

About my sessions

When teaching, it is of course vital to keep your students involved and interested in the topic at hand. As such I tailor my lesson plans (i.e. which topics to cover and at what level) to the individual student (as assessed beforehand). As a teacher, I am inspired by Richard Feynman and his ability to reduce difficult concepts to the simplest of terms while staying true to the deeper theory, and attempt to present content in a way which does not drag on or bore students, and uses a combinatio...

When teaching, it is of course vital to keep your students involved and interested in the topic at hand. As such I tailor my lesson plans (i.e. which topics to cover and at what level) to the individual student (as assessed beforehand). As a teacher, I am inspired by Richard Feynman and his ability to reduce difficult concepts to the simplest of terms while staying true to the deeper theory, and attempt to present content in a way which does not drag on or bore students, and uses a combination of maths and physics together to promote a deeper understanding. I do my best to provide comprehensive, but not unwieldy, notes and revision guides to each topic, as well as numerous example questions to enforce core problem solving abilities. I believe that the best judge of progress is the students themselves, and their confidence and ability to solve problems on the topic.
