Why do I tutor?: I'm very passionate about tutoring as I've personally found it to have been incredibly helpful. I found that being able to speak to someone about my work on a one-to-one basis allowed me to understand far more than was taught in lessons. I also found that being able to clarify a difficult concept immediately allowed me to retain more information. Having gained so much from being a tutee, I now want to give students the chance to have the same beneficial experience as I did.

Experience: I have been a tutor with MyTutor for over two years, having completed more than 120 tutorials so far. I also tutor students in the earlier years of medical school, as well as my peers. I tutor A-level & GCSE Biology & Chemistry, as well as advising on university applications. When I was applying to university, I did a lot of research and spoke to many admissions tutors, so I believe I know what it takes to make your application stand out from the rest. I also help with both major types of medical school admissions tests, having had offers from Imperial College, a BMAT university, as well as Barts and the London, a UKCAT university.

The Session: Our sessions will be guided by the student. I'm a firm believer in being interactive; I find that you learn a lot better if you have to think about things for yourself. I use lots of different teaching methods, including drawings (I apologise in advance for my atrocious artistic skills!). I'm also an advocate of using past exam questions, but only after fully covering the content. Overall, I hope the sessions will be fun and engaging, and you will find that you've learnt a lot in a very short space of time. So if you'd like someone who is friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help you, contact me now and we can arrange a free Meet the Tutor session. I look forward to hearing from you! :)

Osama was very helpful in explaining a topic I found difficult. He used diagrams to talk me through the theory which I find an effective way of learning.
