My education journey

I did my A-levels last year, and I went through the same process of learning, preparation and revision you are either going through now, or are about to go through. I am happy to assist you and pass on all the tips and key strategies I gathered during my studies and exam preparation. Following the specification to guide your studies, recognising the areas for improvement and using different learning strategies, and techniques for different topics are one of many ways to achieve a high score.

General

Before I start working with a tutee it is important for us to talk about both tutee's and parents' expectations from the tutorials, establish the areas in which the student would like to improve, and set clear goals for the tutoring sessions. Each topic requires a different approach, that’s why I use diagrams, charts, written notes, animations, revision cards, flash cards, model answers, highlighting, key words list, etc. to vary the teaching methods as...

Before I start working with a tutee it is important for us to talk about both tutee's and parents' expectations from the tutorials, establish the areas in which the student would like to improve, and set clear goals for the tutoring sessions. Each topic requires a different approach, that’s why I use diagrams, charts, written notes, animations, revision cards, flash cards, model answers, highlighting, key words list, etc. to vary the teaching methods as much as possible.


Session plan

1.Each session would start with a couple of quick questions in the form of quiz to check the understanding from previous lesson is an efficient way to revise the material, but also to identify any difficulties. 

2.During the lesson time we would cover a material previously agreed on with a student. My teaching and explanation of a concept would always be followed by a couple of past paper questions to consolidate the knowledge and to practice exam technique.

 3.A session would end with a quick recap of everything we have covered and I would always advise on some homework and preparation for the next session.
