About me

I study Comparative Literature and Arabic which means I have to love reading a lot!

Literature has always been very important to me not just because of the stories grew up with, but later also learning to appreciate the writer's craft, in more than one language!

For me, practice made perfect, and this principle has carried through to the way I teach. One common mistake I found myself, and later many other students making, is though at first you may grasp an idea or concept, it's easy to confuse or forget so it is vital to reinforce it.

With English, I'll be able to track my student's progress through their reading comprehension and quality of their writing, while with Maths it will be evident from the exercises we complete.

Once the student can see the physical results of their work it's largely upwards from there as they gain confidence in their abilities; mostly students understand the work but doubt themselves and end up confusing themselves. This allows them to do their best.
