I have cultivated my love of maths from a very young age and am looking forward to an opportunity to give back to the community in the form of helping teach the subject I love. My experience of Maths has been one where my teachers helped me not only understand how we do things but why we do things, this has led me to a place where I am very curious and always want to understand how things work. I try to instill a work-life balance and so I play drums, athletics and tennis. I'm also part of CU. I look to do the best I can in all I do and take my exams seriously but also try to enjoy myself.

About my sessions

In my lessons, I will look to cover topics learnt at school, giving students the opportunity to spend that extra hour on a topic, allowing them to fully master the skills required to grasp a concept. I will first do some introductory questions to allow them to warm up and work towards some exam questions which the student can have a go at. If the concept is fully understood, I will look for a harder question, maybe taken from a uni entrance exam to further challenge the student, or leave them...

In my lessons, I will look to cover topics learnt at school, giving students the opportunity to spend that extra hour on a topic, allowing them to fully master the skills required to grasp a concept. I will first do some introductory questions to allow them to warm up and work towards some exam questions which the student can have a go at. If the concept is fully understood, I will look for a harder question, maybe taken from a uni entrance exam to further challenge the student, or leave them something to think about. WIth most of the topics learnt at A level there is an application to the real world which will help students understand why they learn what they learn. In terms of progress I will start the session showing them what we're working towards and then by the end of the session, hopefully they will be able to solve it unassisted. I think it is important to be able to learn in a less pressured atmosphere and I seek to try to teach in an imaginative and fun way which boosts confidence.

My daughter (8 years old) has had a couple of sessions with Seyi. She is engaged in the session and looks forward to her next session. To early to see an impact as yet. I can see her really concentrating to answer a question, and I can hear her laughing in the session with Seyi. I am very pleased with how things are going so far.
