About me

Studying International Business with Spanish is exciting because it facilitates a range of my interests. In school at times I found exams difficult but with the help of teachers, any exam was doable! Applying to university can be a tough process but it teaches you about yourself: your ability to manage time, understanding your personal interests/desire to study your degree and it helps you to question potential alternatives too! At my university, I am a member of the Warwick Business School society, Warwick Inspire (a society that runs sessions in schools in Coventry), Afro-Caribbean society, I also attend dance classes and am the course representative for my degree. I think that by having a varied outlook to university, I will help you to realise that you can keep up your hobbies whilst improving academically. My lessons will be structured based on how you learn best, whether through explanations and then worked examples for you to receive feedback or practising exam questions together to build confidence. I will start with foundational skills to see your current attainment and then help you to progress from there. Preparing for my school exams, I stayed on schedule and had fixed times for work/play/rest. A balanced life is very important for good mental health and focus during your study time but also, planning ahead: writing up notes and consolidating your learning before exam season pressure is key to prepare successfully and reduce stress.

About my sessions

I will start lessons with quick fire questions to warm up and set an enjoyable, fun pace for the session. Then, we will look at a particular key part of the curriculum to focus on, do practice questions together and then individually, to build confidence and then reinforce your own understanding of the concept. I may also leave you with a few questions at the end of the session to look through and perhaps practice before the next session so that if there are any lasting concerns, they can be...

I will start lessons with quick fire questions to warm up and set an enjoyable, fun pace for the session. Then, we will look at a particular key part of the curriculum to focus on, do practice questions together and then individually, to build confidence and then reinforce your own understanding of the concept. I may also leave you with a few questions at the end of the session to look through and perhaps practice before the next session so that if there are any lasting concerns, they can be revisited during the next session before moving on to the next. I will help you to achieve your goals by highlighting what is needed to get there, what is expected of you as a student being proactive in your learning but also me assisting you in gaining the academic knowledge and expertise you need in order to gain your desired grade. I will measure progress by monitoring your scores/understanding weekly, give you feedback after each session but also at the end of each month/term so that you are aware of your progress trend and whether more effort is needed on my or your part. To encourage learning, I think it is important to make sessions dynamic and fun but also practical. I always find various ways of teaching whether that be through games and activities or alternative ways of presenting concepts/ideas/challenges. This reduces monotony and boredom in learning and will actually make it a fun and engaging session for you- perhaps something different to your average school lesson!
