About me

Hi! My name is Chloe and I’m a Chemistry student at the University of Birmingham. I would love the opportunity to share my knowledge and support others as having previously been a student on my tutor web, I know just how valuable it can be! I really enjoy teaching in a fun and engaging way and I recognise the benefits of tailoring each session to the individual student’s needs. I have previously tutored all three sciences at GCSE level, which has included improving exam technique, elements of organic Chemistry and key processes in Biology. My GCSE/A-level sciences were in a range of exam boards and I am more than happy to research the relevant board for each student.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Questions Chloe has answered

What is an unsaturated hydrocarbon?

Unsaturated hydrocarbons contain at least one carbon carbon double bond, the simplest is the alkene. They are more reactive than saturated hydrocarbons because they have the ability to undergo addition reactions by opening up the double bond. Doing so frees electrons from the double bond so that they can form new covalent bonds with other atoms.
