About me

I am currently a Natural Sciences student at Bath University, majoring in chemistry and minoring in pharmacology. My initial interest in research was sparked when I undertook my EPQ. I explored the use of immunotherapy in the treatment of leukaemia. Answers that I found through my research generated new questions stimulating my curiosity. I wanted to pursue a degree, continuing to pave this path and capturing my interests in the current applications of science.

I explored the use of immunotherapy in the treatment of leukaemia. Answers that I found through my research generated new questions stimulating my curiosity. I wanted to pursue a degree, continuing to pave this path and capturing my interests in the current applications of science.

My extra curricular interests are tennis, which I like to play to a competitive level. I have also taken up novice rowing at university, which has been a unique experience so far, if not a little scary! I am currently a Level 2 accredited Tennis Coach and have been involved in tennis coaching since I was 14. Therefore, I have experience in leading individuals to their desired goal. I enjoyed helping the "budding tennis enthusiasts" progress and flourish, learning the required skills to enjoy the sport more. These teaching skills will be useful in tutoring as I hope to lead more individuals to many more successes. I am extremely motivated and embrace the challenges of study and cannot wait to help others do the same. There is no limit to your success, except the ones which you put in place!

About my sessions

Each student has a unique method of learning, unique aspirations and motivations. Therefore, during my initial meetings, I aim to understand the student's learning style and tailor the tutoring experience to suit them. Often it is difficult to relate the scientific concepts to real life scenarios, so I used to read around my subjects. This not only stimulated my curiosity, but made my revision more interesting and improved my recall. I think it is important that the student is engaged and interested, so I aspire to make my sessions fun and interactive, increasing the chance of success.

In each of my sessions, I will go through exam style questions, explaining the mark schemes, highlighting the thought process and the different topics addressed. I will also offer exam and revision techniques to obtain the best results. I measure the student's progress through topic specific exam questions, allowing the student to see how close they are to their desired grade.

I also realise that successful learning is predominantly based on confidence, so I aim to encourage and guide students in a way that they learn to trust in their ability.
