About me

Hi everyone!!

I'm Ellie, a 4th year medical student at the Uni of Liverpool. In my spare time, I love having girly movie nights with my pals, going to the gym and painting.

Biology and Chemistry are integral parts of my degree, which means that throughout medical school I have kept on top of my basic knowledge of science. In school I worked really hard to get my grades meaning I know loads of tips and tricks to help you revise well and get through those exams. Whether you're studying GCSE, A-Level or applying for Uni, I have the resources and experience to help you out.

If you're looking to apply for medical school, I can definitely help. My journey to medical school wasn't the smoothest - my first time around I got no offers for interview. This motivated me to get my grades and some more all-important work experience so that I could ace it second time around. And I did!! Second time I got offers for all four interviews at Liverpool, Leicester, Sheffield and Keele. Applying to medschool twice means I've done the UKCAT twice (trust me, I KNOW how horrible it is!!) and I've written two personal statements, so I'm well-equipped to help you if you're planning on applying to medical school. Honestly, getting in is the hardest part, whilst you're here it's all about keeping your head above water!

Hope to meet you soon,

Ellie

About my sessions

My sessions will be entirely centred around you and whatever you want to learn. Struggling with photosynthesis? No problem. Biochemistry getting you down? I can help.

I don't want to lecture you - when I came to Uni I realised that lectures did not suit my style of learning at all. Instead, I think a question and answer based approach is better. It's more interactive and different to what you would get in the classroom. Therefore, if you let me know of a topic, or a...

I don't want to lecture you - when I came to Uni I realised that lectures did not suit my style of learning at all. Instead, I think a question and answer based approach is better. It's more interactive and different to what you would get in the classroom. Therefore, if you let me know of a topic, or a few topics you would like me to run through before each session, I can get some questions ready for you and we can talk it out. Don't worry about not knowing the answer or getting things wrong - mistakes are the best way of learning. Alternatively, if you think you respond better to lecture-style teaching then I'm happy to give this, but I will still include questions to see how you're progressing.

If you are applying to Uni or Medical school then I can also help with personal statements, work experience and interview tips.

Ellie helped my son turn his level 3 science prediction grade to a level 9 in jut one term. She is down to earth and explains things in a way young people can understand. She is conscientious and cares about her tutees always preparing fully for each lesson and also compiling feedback and learning tips afterwards in time for the next session. I would highly recommend Ellie if you want results.

Ellie is amazing with my son who is autistic and has trouble focusing and gaining confidence in his ability. She is patient but also in touch and able to relate to kids my son’s age. She applies this to her teaching technique which helps with building rapport between tutor and student. Many a time my son has finished a session and talked about how relevant Ellie made the theory. I would highly recommend Ellie as a sound tutor for your child.

So enthusiastic about what she does, and very engaging, easy to approach. She's uplifting and the way she teaches is very clear and sharp, easy to grasp and process, and overall a really good tutor!
