I've always found it so rewarding to finally hit upon the solution of a problem and I would like to pass on this joy to my students. I've had experience mentoring younger students at school who found maths difficult, working through homework questions they were unsure of how to approach and going over things they didn't fully understand in lessons. I firmly believe that Maths is something that everyone can be good at and I hope, with my help, students will gain a better understanding of topics that they may not have covered in depth. I will help students improve by providing engaging and informative lessons as the best way to learn maths is to practice. Therefore, I'll be using many example questions that we can go through together in order to properly understand a concept.
My online lessons will be structured into two parts: in the first part the student will show me the questions in their homework or tests that they were unable to understand and we will work through them, in the second part, once it becomes clear what topics the student is struggling with, we will do more questions involving these topics as well as any other gaps in their knowledge I have noticed from their aproach to the problem. I would expect the student to either provide some topics which...

I would expect the student to either provide some topics which they don't understand or specific questions which they are finding difficult. I will track progress by setting a question for the student to do at the beginning of the session recapping topics covered in the previous lesson. I think it is very important for the student to properly engage with the questions as it is impossible for them to learn if they just watch me solving problems. With this in mind, I would be providing interactive lessons using the whiteboard to write up the questions and explain concepts and asking the student to try and complete as much as possible with my hints.
