About me

I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in the summer of 2018, and decided to take a slightly different route.

As it turned out, my veterinary training had prepared me remarkably well for the job of teaching science! My background gave me a unique angle from which to approach scientific topics with students, and I continue to work hard behind the scenes to develop my skills as a teacher.

As it turned out, my veterinary training had prepared me remarkably well for the job of teaching science! My background gave me a unique angle from which to approach scientific topics with students, and I continue to work hard behind the scenes to develop my skills as a teacher.

I wanted to become a vet because I love animals, and most of all, I am fascinated by the science behind how living things work, how and why they go wrong, and what we can do to fix them. During the many years that I've studied science, both at school and during my degree, I've experienced a huge variety of different teaching styles, many of which just did not work for me. I know how it feels to really struggle to understand a concept, and I’ve come up with many of my own learning techniques that have helped me through a very intense five years of veterinary training and exams.

About my sessions

I aim for my sessions to be interactive, interesting, and a bit different.

I will introduce you to some effective study techniques to help you study less, but better. The key is using your study time wisely, so that you can still do the things you enjoy outside of school. Taking care of yourself is such an important part of performing well academically, so making your study time work for you is crucial in maintaining that healthy balance.

I will introduce you to some effective study techniques to help you study less, but better. The key is using your study time wisely, so that you can still do the things you enjoy outside of school. Taking care of yourself is such an important part of performing well academically, so making your study time work for you is crucial in maintaining that healthy balance.

I have delivered well over 100 tutorials to secondary students of all abilities, in preparation for their GCSE and A Level exams – both privately, and within the MyTutor Schools Programme, which provides students with free tuition during their school day, who otherwise could not afford it.

As one of my students, you will get: a bespoke study plan, tutorials entirely tailored to your needs, my support every step of the way, and tutorials that will push you (in a good way) to do your very best. Plenty of fun and encouragement as standard – achieving our goals begins with the belief that we are capable, and it is my job to show you just how capable you are, by celebrating every small win along the way.
