About me

I qualified as a vet from the University of Glasgow in 2018, and I'm excited to use my background in Veterinary Medicine and unique approach to help you get to grips with Biology.

I wanted to become a vet because I love animals, and most of all, I am fascinated by the science behind how living things work, how and why they go wrong, and what we can do to fix them.

I wanted to become a vet because I love animals, and most of all, I am fascinated by the science behind how living things work, how and why they go wrong, and what we can do to fix them.

During the many years that I've studied biology, both at school and during my degree, I've experienced a huge variety of different teaching styles, many of which just did not work for me. I know how it feels to really struggle to understand a concept, and I’ve come up with many of my own learning techniques that have helped me through a very intense five years of veterinary training and exams.

For me, becoming a vet has really brought biology to life. Every living thing is a fascinating example of biology in action. Sometimes all we need is somebody to zoom out and help us to see the bigger picture, in order to better understand the inner workings.

About my sessions

I aim for my sessions to be interactive, interesting, and a bit different. I favour a creative and visual approach to teaching. Science is a 3D subject, and I try to think outside the box when tailoring a tutorial to a student. My aim is to help you to make connections for yourself, and introduce you to some effective learning techniques that will help to build your confidence in maths and science and really solidify your understanding. The key is using your study time wisely, so that you can...

The key is using your study time wisely, so that you can still do the things you enjoy outside of school, and I can help you to develop effective study skills that will keep your confidence and motivation up. Taking care of yourself is such an important part of performing well academically, so making your study time work for you is crucial in maintaining that healthy balance.

If you’re thinking about applying to vet school, look no further. I can also offer you feedback and advice on any aspect of your vet school application, including work experience, personal statements, UCAS applications and interviews. After all, I submitted three UCAS applications (and endured many interviews) before I was finally offered a place at vet school as a mature student; I’ve experienced all of the ups and downs!

If you think I sound like the tutor for you, please feel free to book an introductory chat! I look forward to meeting you in the lesson space soon.
