Degree: English Literature (Masters) - Edinburgh University
Hello! My name is Laura.
I am studying for a master’s degree in English Literature at Edinburgh University.
I absolutely love books and language and would be very interested in helping you out if you are having difficulty getting to grips with any part of your English course.
In year 13 I learnt the courses myself. In my year out between college and university I also taught myself an A-level in psychology.
I was accepted into Edinburgh on the strength of my personal statement. I have helped a number of my friends with their C.V. cover letters, application letters, and personal statements and would be more than happy to assist with yours.
I have helped younger students learn- especially those with dyslexia so I am patient and encouraging for those feeling stressed, and enjoy finding creative new ways to help you understand.
Within English, my strengths lie in criticism, essay construction, analysis and theory. I have had to analyse poems more times than I can count so if you are having difficulty there, I am glad to help. I also have particular experience with the works of Shakespeare and I attend an annual camp amongst other students and teachers to watch performances of his plays.
The best way to learn something is to teach it! So by the end of our sessions I will expect for you to be able to talk me through everything with ease and confidence.
Don't hesitate to send me a message and see what we can do!
