About me

About me:

Hi I am Natalie and I am currently in my third year at the University of Exeter and I am studying physical Geography. I have had a love for geography since before GCSE's finding it an ever changing and engaging subject. I hope that the sessions I provide help a tutees confidence alongside encouraging enthusiasm for subjects which at times can be a little challenging.

I aim to ensure that my sessions are effective and useful for individual students as I understand that sometimes 'one style fits all' does not apply. Therefore, each session is adapted to an individual's needs.

Geography (GCSE: AQA, A Level: OCR)

At GCSE I studied a range of topics from natural hazards and how to cope with them to coastal management. At AS I investigated the effects of climate change globally, going into issues at regional levels alongside global ramifications. For A level the main topics that I studied were sustainable energy and population change. During my years at University I have gone on to study these topics more in depth alongside gaining new skills such as statistics and computer programming. I am able to research any specific areas the individual is studying.

To attain the best grades conquering exam and essay technique is vital and I am able to proofread any work. I am confident in helping students develop and improve their essay structure after consistently obtaining high marks in my coursework and exams.

English (GCSE: OCR, A Level: AQA)

When tutoring English my main focus would be to help to improve student’s essay writing skills and exam technique. I am more than happy to read over work and give constructive criticism. I understand that it can be difficult to know how to approach essay questions and how to convey your point in an effective manner.

At GCSE the books I studied included Of 1984, The Death of a Salesman and Othello. At AS and A level, The Great Gatsby, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Dubliners, Brian Friel 'Translations' , Christina Rossetti poetry1984, On Chesil beach were texts that I studied in depth- although I am not restricted to teaching these texts, however these are texts with which I am most familiar.
