About me

I am Venkat, a first year Medical student at King's College London. I've always loved being practical and applying the scientific knowledge I learnt into real life, especially when I worked in the Cambridge University Hospital in my gap year, It was interesting to see the science behind the diseases I came across. the combination of my passion for Science and the application of Medical Science is what made me want to pursue a degree in Medicine.

However, you might be asking why I'm doing Medicine, but signed myself up for Maths as one of the option for tutoring among the personal statement for University and UKCAT which is more understandable. Maths was something I wanted to do if it was not for Medicine, it is essentially the base for all the sciences, and during exam season, doing maths between Chemistry and Biology revision was almost like a stress-relief, dare I say it, maybe even relaxing and a hobby? But I helped many of my friends during exams for maths so they achieved 80% + at A-Level, so I think I am a suitable tutor to help students achieve their goals!

I am part of many societies at University, ranging from Rap Soc and DJ soc to Chess Soc, these are more my hobbies. But for the educational side of things, I am also part of medical speciality societies such as Obs and Gynae. I am also a massive fan of cricket.

About my sessions

I think it's safe to say we all learn in different ways, well, this at least became obvious to me when I started University, with many people moving from the old school books and papers, to printing out lecture notes and annotating, or using electronic devices to make notes such as iPad's, and Laptops, or just sticking to pen and paper. Or you might have a different way of learning, such as just listening and absorbing all the information- I guess I suit this category more. But the wa...

Or you might have a different way of learning, such as just listening and absorbing all the information- I guess I suit this category more. But the way I want to structure my lessons are through interacting with student in such a way I know the learning style of the student, things like maths is more about practise than anything, but there are still learning styles, such as using lots of examples to understand the concept before applying, or just listening to the theory behind it, before diving into questions. Personally, I was going to find out the doubt from the student, and explain through examples, and give questions to answer

for UKCAT, it's all about tips and practise, I am here to guide you with tips and tricks to make sure you get what you want, and for personal statements, trust me when I say I've edited many and gone through the process a lot, writing a personal statement is an art in my opinion; having taking a gap year, I had to do the process twice, and I edited personal statement for some students are doing Medicine at top universities such as UCL and Cambridge.
