About me

I have always been told I'm very good at explaining, very patient, and should take advantage of my teaching skills! Over the years this has made me more and more passionate about teaching, especially in the subjects I am good at!

I'm a second year Psychology student at University College London (UCL)! My relationship with mathematics has never been lost. I constantly help my younger sister with her school work regarding mathematics, and in my first year of university, I did an extra module in mathematics!

I did my Maths GCSE one year early and passed with A*, in year 11, I did higher level mathematics to get ready for A-Level mathematics.

I passed my GCSEs with 4 A*s, 5As 2Bs and a pass in Algebra Level 3 (not graded, only a pass or a fail!)

In my A-Levels I decided to do Maths, Further Maths, Psychology, EPQ and Persian. I finished my A-Levels with 2A*s, 2As and a B! The knowledge I gained from doing further maths at A-Levels is something that will always keep my excited about it!

Mathematics and Psychology (alongside of playing the violin) have always been two of my biggest passions. I believe the world around us, anywhere from nature to the stock markets can be described in terms of simple mathematics and simple psychology!

I hope to be able to make others as passionate as I am in these two topics, I know for a fact I will give my students my absolute best, and help them develop the skills needed to tackle any problems!

About my sessions

The very first thing any teacher should do, is make sure the student is not scared of the subject and doesn't believe the subject is impossible or hard. Having a good relationship with the given subject is just as important as having a good relationship with the teacher.

The very first thing any teacher should do, is make sure the student is not scared of the subject and doesn't believe the subject is impossible or hard. Having a good relationship with the given subject is just as important as having a good relationship with the teacher.

The next step would be identifying the subsections that the student finds more difficult. It is important to let the student guide you to the parts they find more difficult, rather than bombard them with a ton of past papers and questions which may or may NOT help them.

After identifying the sections that will be the main focus of our sessions, I will make sure the students' base understanding of the given topics is not flawed. Then we will move on to revising the section, doing past papers questions in lessons, looking at some more difficult examples. (At the end of the day, if you can master more difficult questions, the normal ones will be a piece of cake!)

Students will also be given some homework. I do understand that they have other commitments as well, so I will make sure the amount of homework given is fair.

Closer to the times of exams, we will do timed past papers and look at the questions that the student has gotten wrong. repetition is key, and is the route to good grades, and more importantly, great understanding of a given topic.

The techniques I will use were used by myself and others as well, and I have absolute faith that they will work!
