I am an academic scholar at Imperial College London studying MSc Climate Change, Management and Finance. Earlier this year, I graduated with a double first-class degree from the University of Cambridge, reading Physical Natural Sciences. I have been tutoring on MyTutor for over a year , and I thoroughly enjoy helping students reach their highest potential in physics and maths. I'm fascinated by atmospheric physics, and have spent a summer researching the effects of climate change at the British Antarctic Survey.

'Getting' maths and physics is all about knowing, and understanding, the tricks of the trade. Having seen something similar to a certain problem before, we need to know how to apply the right trick to find the answer. I've discovered many of these tricks the hard way, and have discovered many others by 'phoning a friend' and asking for help, and I'm here to share them all! Although solving a maths problem can be difficult, that doesn't mean it can't also be fascinating, fulfilling and fun :)

Aside from science, I love to play and conduct music, and regularly play girls football in our college league.

About my sessions

I believe that the most effective way of tutoring is to take an individual approach towards each student. If a tutor takes the time to get to know their student and understands how they best learn, then the lessons can be tailored towards their needs and will be more effective. I am more than happy to mould each lesson to the preferences of each student and their preferred learning style, whether it be visually, audibly, or kinaesthetically.

I am more than happy to mould each lesson to the preferences of each student and their preferred learning style, whether it be visually, audibly, or kinaesthetically.

Especially in the physical sciences, it is so important than the tutor has a deep understanding of what they are teaching, as opposed to reading up on a theorem shortly before a lesson. Having built on all of the physics and maths that is taught at GCSE/A level/IB at university, and after achieving an academic scholarship at Jesus College, Cambridge, you can be certain that you will receive high quality help and advice.

Pippa has helped me with Oxbridge Preparation and general interview practice for Natural Sciences and Materials Science. She has really consolidated important concepts whilst also introducing me to new ideas, encouraging me to develop problem solving skills and confidence when tackling unfamiliar problems. Her extensive feedback and tips at the end of the practice interview were so valuable, and taking this forward into the actual interviews really put me at ease. I would thoroughly recommend! Thank you :)

So far everything has been great. She teaches everything in a very understandable manner even though the topics may be hard and complicated.

Pippa has really helped me understand physics concepts I was finding difficult. Her explanations are clear and I find myself understanding subjects that we have covered in class much better. She helps me out with questions I have struggled with and shows me where I have gone wrong!
