I am really passionate about findings ways to learn and study that work for you individually and am well equipped to tutor a range of subjects including English, Geography, Spanish and Biology. We can track progress by assessing how comfortable you personally feel about specific topics as all quantitatively through marking your answers to practice questions. Whatever you need to help you learn and improve, I will do my best to provide.
Initially I'd like to establish which areas within the subject need the most attention so that the sessions can be structured in such a way that they are most effective to my students.
After picking out key areas, I would like to for the technical aspects of different subjects such as Spanish Grammar and Biological processes to go over explanations of these in a way that makes sense to the student and in a way that they will be able to retain this knowledge going forwar...

However, once all the underpinning knowledge is secure in the various areas of concern, the main way in which the lessons will be structured is through the framework of practice exam-style questions as I feel that learning proper exam technique and how to apply knowledge is a crucial part of achieving high exam success.
In order to measure progress, I would like to qualitatively assess this through conversations with the student about what they are most and least confident in (and tracking how this changes over the course of the sessions) as well as quantitatively assess progress through marking answers to practice questions.
We only take tutor applications from candidates who are studying at the UK’s leading universities. Candidates who fulfil our grade criteria then pass to the interview stage, where a member of the MyTutor team will personally assess them for subject knowledge, communication skills and general tutoring approach. About 1 in 7 becomes a tutor on our site.
