About me

Hi! I'm Rosalie and I'm studying History at Durham University. I've always had a passion for all things historical and I hope that I can bring that to our tutorials! In my final two years of school I taught English to two Italian primary school students.  I have since run workshops in Art and drama for GCSE level students. As History captain I ran homework sessions to help younger students get to grips with content and exam technique. I hope you find me helpful and friendly!

How Can I Help?

With both English and History at GCSE and A Level, I have found that mastering exam technique is the trickiest element of the course. If it's exam technique you need help with, I hope that together we can find a method that helps you answer the question both concisely and quickly. I will tailor our Tutorials to your needs specifically – anything from confusing content to revision practice. Sometimes it’s hard to get individual attention in a classroom and I would hope that I can provide clearer and perhaps more relatable explanations. I have done plenty of reading for my degree so can also provide titles of academic books that might be helpful to refer too.

My experience lies predominantly in Modern History. I studied the Russian Revolution and Appeasment at GCSE level and my A level course covered the Cold War and the French Revolution. I have also specialised in the British Empire, focusing particuarly on India and Africa. I My Literature courses have focused extensively on poetry analysis and I have studied Shakespeare (Hamlet; Romeo and Juliet; and Macbeth), Tennessee Williams (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Thomas Hardy (Tess of the D'Urbervilles),Oscar Wilde (The Picture of Dorian Gray; Importance of Being Earnest; Lady Windermere's Fan), F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Great Gatsby) and Anthony Burgess (A Clockwork Orange) in depth.

How Will Our Sessions Work?

This is up to you! If you think I might be able to help you, you can book a free Meet Your Tutor session where you can let me know exactly what you’re struggling with!
