Hello my name is Nicholas, but many people call me Nick. I am currently studying for a BA Geography at Brasenose College, and I would love to help tutor you and share the love of my subject.

- This wonderful subject explores the fragile entanglement of humans and the wider environment around us.

- I also tutor Psychology which is a great interest of mine, and love seeing the progression students make, from biopsychology to research methodology. Although many students may find the mathematical elements difficult and challenging, I encourage a positive and fun approach to understanding, since self-doubt and confidence often prevents candidates from thinking they can get to the correct answer.

- I tutor music, having received two A*s in written exams at AS and AL. I am a qualified harpist and pianist, the latter to diploma level.

- Having experienced the Oxbridge application process, for those applying to Oxford or Cambridge, I am able to help with the pre-interview assessment tests - having sat the TSA, GAA and GAT - and provide interview preparation.

- In my A Levels, I studied Geography, Psychology and Music and achieved 2 A*s and an A in the latter.

- I came first in my cohort in all subjects with further achievements from attaining 100% UMS in 3 out of 4 papers in Geography and achieved a raw mark (235/288) which placed me in the Top 30 students in the country out of over 50,000 candidates (99.95% quartile) in Psychology.

About my sessions

GCSE and A Level Psychology, Geography and Music can be extremely challenging subjects, for there is a huge body of difficult content to learn and comprehensively understand.

GCSE and A Level Psychology, Geography and Music can be extremely challenging subjects, for there is a huge body of difficult content to learn and comprehensively understand.

My unique approach therefore aims to break down the amount of things you think you need to know into sizeable chunks, making revision less of a burden for students. I have numerous methods which assist all kinds of learners, from creative mind-map approaches to more scientific methods.

With changes in the specifications of leading exam boards, the new style of questions test knowledge and application rather than previous factual recall. This thereby challenges many students as it proposes a significant change from what they were comfortable with at GCSE.

I assist the student with gaining this understanding, by coaching with what questions are actually asking the individual and how to phrase the answer in order to achieve full marks.

I have immediate access to a huge range of exam questions, mark schemes and tutoring resources.

Prior to the tutorial, I am able to send resources - including notes, questions and PowerPoints to go through so faster progress can be made during the lesson.

If students require further resources or are stuck on questions, I will support them by MyTutor outside of tutoring time.
