About me

I'm currently studying Physics at the University of Southampton. My curiosity in Physics was initially raised by how gravitational time dilation was portrayed in the movie Interstellar. I started researching Relativity through YouTube videos, feeding my hunger for knowledge. I also watched a lecture series by Leonard Susskind, on General Relativity which taught me how Maths can be used to make sense of such a seemingly unintuitive topic. I started researching Relativity through YouTube videos, feeding my hunger for knowledge. I also watched a lecture series by Leonard Susskind, on General Relativity which taught me how Maths can be used to make sense of such a seemingly unintuitive topic. Researching Relativity led me down the path of investigating similarly awe-inspiring areas of Physics such as quantum mechanics.

I generally found exams at school quite easy as I always made sure I had a solid understanding of the subject in question. I would always ensure I had done more than enough preparation prior to the exam. Also, when applying to university I knew I had a passion for physics and was eager to learn more about the universe so I found the whole process of applying to university relatively easy. Now at university my course is obviously very challenging and demanding, however, it is very satisfying learning more and more every day.

At university I train Jiu Jitsu twice a week and I have active roles on the committee as Secretary and Social secretary as well as being a Social secretary for the whole of Martial Arts. Jiu Jitsu has helped me a lot in terms of teaching me discipline and gives me much needed structure in my week.

About my sessions

I feel like I can help students improve by teaching them the skills to tackle any problems they might come across. This means I will not simply show them how to answer questions but guide them through any problems, allowing them to develop independence and problem solving skills which will help them in the future.

My lessons will be structured in such a way that will benefit the individual student. I will make sure to know what the student's weak spots are and try and target that. H...

However, at the same time I will ensure that we cover the fundamentals as well and build up a solid groundwork.

In terms of learning techniques, I will be using lots of practice questions as for subjects such as Physics and Maths these are the most effective ways of properly understanding a problem. As well as practice questions I will be always asking the student whether he/she doesn't understand any topic and if they don't I will find some examples that I feel would help them understand it the most.
