I'm Umamah, a second year medical student at the University of Leeds.
I have a love for the logic, research and experimentation underpinning scientific knowledge, and enjoyed GCSE and A level science tremendously for that reason. I hope I can build your confidence to think about science in an intuitive way, giving you not only the skills to pass exams, but the interest to learn more, so to understand the world around you (and inside you!) better.
How I teach
I have tutored younger students before, taking part in mentoring schemes and running study sessions, so I know how to make the experience of learning rewarding. I am patient, friendly, and very open to suggestions on how you want to learn. I like efficiency, so will always make sure that you will make the most of your study session, and like to use numerous different resources- videos, illustrations, podcasts, past papers, online flash cards, and more- to keep you engaged, and help with memory and understanding. Most importantly, I am very open to feedback on how you'd like to tailor your lessons.
Help with medical school
The proccess of applying to medical school is not easy- there are many hoops you need to jump through. The personal statement can be quite daunting at times, but I can help you- I've given feedback on quite a few since starting med school! Any questions about the UKCAT, BMAT or interview proccess? I'm here for advice and tips
