Questions Iman has answered

Describe the photoelectric effect.

The photoelectric effect is a phenomenom which occurs when photons strike a metal causing electrons to be released from the metal atoms. This occurs because the photons transfer their energy to the electrons in the atom's causing them to get enough energy to escape their energy shells.

Differentiate x^2+4x+9.

To differentiate you must look at each term separately. So for x^2 to differentiate we bring the two down to multiply in front of the x and then take one away from the power leaving 2x. For 4x, x is to the power of one so we bring the one down and take one away from the power. This makes 4x^0 ...

To differentiate you must look at each term separately. So for x^2 to differentiate we bring the two down to multiply in front of the x and then take one away from the power leaving 2x. For 4x, x is to the power of one so we bring the one down and take one away from the power. This makes 4x^0 and anything to the power of 0 (in this case it's x which is to the power of 0) makes 1. So the second term is 4*1=4. For the third term there is no x so to differentiate we get rid of it completely so the final answer is 2x+4.
