About me

I’m Natalie, a final year Veterinary Student. Some of my earliest memories include wandering around the garden with dogs bigger than myself. Biology was one of my favourite subjects throughout school as I found human biology so interesting and animals really aren’t that different! I’m Natalie, a final year Veterinary Student. Some of my earliest memories include wandering around the garden with dogs bigger than myself. Biology was one of my favourite subjects throughout school as I found human biology so interesting and animals really aren’t that different! Biology is all about the fundamental building blocks of life; understanding how our bodies work is a true privilege. My degree has allowed me to build on concepts that both GCSE and A level biology only scratch the surface of at school.

Besides caring for our four legged companions, being a vet requires strong interpersonal skills, so I thoroughly enjoy helping others to understand and solve problems. I’m also an avid martial artist and since earning my black belt in Karate, I have taught people of all ages and know how rewarding this is. It was here I developed my empathetic and patient style of teaching which has been very successful.

In my down time I train and teach at my Jiu Jitsu club where I’m working towards my dark blue belt. Being the Senior Vice President of our university’s EdVet society, I am very invested in coaching prospective students to help them achieve a place at vet school. Please enquire about personal statement tutoring as I have a very successful track record mentoring prospective veterinary applicants who have gone on to achieve places at their first choice vet school.

About my sessions

My lessons are structured and use a variety of engaging resources. My student's goals are my own goals. I work with motivation, patience and empathy but also like to push my students as they always know far more than they realise and often thrive in a positive and supportive atmosphere. My teaching is tailored to individual learning styles but will always be adaptable in order to suit specific needs. Progress is sustained and measured through revisiting, revising and testing material that we cover, and I ensure this is suitably understood and applied, not just passively recalled.

I find that to effectively tackle sciences at GCSE and A Level, past papers are a vital component. They acquaint you with the question and exam style alongside highlighting weaker areas of knowledge. Along with teaching core material, I incorporate past papers and tests to ensure we are securing those desired grades.

If you choose to work with me, please do arrange a free meeting. We can set out a list of topics to cover and ensure all the content is effectively covered. I usually accompany each topic with material to test understanding, then past paper questions. I can set homework at your request should you wish to add extra teaching material however I do charge for this as I put just as much work into setting homework as I do planning my lessons. My specialty is Biology iGCSE (Edexcel) but I am available to tutor biology for any exam board at both GCSE and A Level.
