About me

Hello! My name is Freddie and I am an undergraduate at the University of Bristol studying Medicine. I was drawn to medicine due to it’s combination of fascinating science and clinical contact, directly improving peoples lives. The curriculum at medical school is broad, with subjects ranging from anatomy to the art of medicine, and I am throughly enjoying it!

At A level, I studied Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, with extra study in Further Maths and Classical Greek. This broad subject base allowed me to make links between my subjects which I believe massively helped me in learning the content. I also believe that when a strong understanding of a topic has been reached, the best way to consolidate the knowledge is by doing past paper questions and going over areas that are less strong. Studying these A levels whilst applying to medical school has given me an appreciation of the stresses of A level and applying to University; I want to guide you through this process and help you to be successful!

I am an outgoing and enthusiastic person who wants to inspire students, so that learning a subject becomes more and more interesting! At university, I currently play lacrosse, which I am thoroughly enjoying. I am also in the Surgical Society, which is giving me an opportunity to learn more about the options training pathways for medical students. I play guitar, both acoustic and classical, and have always enjoyed singing and writing music.

About my sessions

Biology and Chemistry A-level:

Biology and Chemistry A-level:

I love teaching people to help them understand scientific and mathematical concepts, and to do this I will tailor and plan each session to your needs and learning style. First I will ensure that you have a strong understanding of the subject areas in the course, to build your confidence on answering past paper questions. I will then start going work done outside the tutorial with you, whether this be past papers or homework questions. I will suggest ways to improve on this and general exam techniques to tackle every type of question. During my tutorials, I will help you develop a strong, cohesive understanding of the subject, along exam techniques to use, whatever the question.

Medical School Preparation:

Applying to medical school is tough, but it can be made less tough with strong preparation! I will help you through the process, guiding you through every part and will give you advice on how to excel in your interview. All over the internet there is so much information on how apply to medical school that it can be unclear where to start or what the best advice is; I will go through this with you and outline clearly what the process is like.
