As a result of this role, in addition to my previous job at the International Criminal Court, I have a wealth of practical experience and enthusiasm to teach a range of subjects. I have over four years tutoring and proofreading experience, offering law and English tuition from GCSE through to English as a second language. I am also available to review a wide range of papers, for spelling anf grammar, proofreading, style, structure and argumentation. I enjoy helping students, young and old to improve their English speaking and writing abilities.

About my sessions

Before any class I will ask the student what their specific concern or issue is. Once understood, I will ensure that the class focuses on process rather than providing a straight answer. With law and politics, such straight answers seldom exist and exam questions are designed to probe contentious issues. I prefer instead to offer guidance on essay technique, problem solving and the student's ability to reason with resort to evidence. Through building these skills, I find it is more effect...

With law and politics, such straight answers seldom exist and exam questions are designed to probe contentious issues. I prefer instead to offer guidance on essay technique, problem solving and the student's ability to reason with resort to evidence. Through building these skills, I find it is more effective and helps develop transferable skills useful not just in the tutored subject, but in any subject the student is studying.

Matthew was a great help with a recent assignment. He reviewed, proofread, provided feedback and reduced the word count in super quick time. An enthusiastic and responsive tutor who is keen to help. Will definitely use again in the future.
