Degree: Biochemistry (Bachelors) - Bristol University
I am a Biochemistry undergraduate at Bristol university (the Chemistry of life, I must add) so naturally I live and breathe for science! I understand that science can appear daunting at times, but hopefully my tutorials will inspire enthusiasm for it rather than fear.
I have been a mentor in the past for younger students and I have been a reading tutor for younger students to help them develop their reading skills and confidence, so I am no stranger to helping others academically. I'm very laid-back and relaxed and I'll ensure that your learning is a very comfortable, guided process.
The aim of each session will be for you to gain confidence in areas that trouble you, so you will determine what is covered in the sessions. Understanding key concepts is vital in science, so my sessions will be focused on achieving this and then applying this to exam questions.
Because science is basically my life, I find it easy to explain things using analogies and comparisons to real life, sport, TV and even movies, so whatever you're interested in I have a scientific reference that relates to it! I will use analogies, diagrams and various other ways to illustrate what I am explaining as best as possible, until you feel confident enough to explain it to me and answer questions.
The main aim is that the sessions are enjoyable and I really do hope you'll be able to fall in love science the way I have - that way, problems won't even be seen as problems, but as fun challenges and you'll make progress quicker than you even realise!
What do I do next?
If you have any questions, send me a 'WebMail' or book a 'Meet The Tutor' session (both accessible through this website) and I'll be more than happy to respond. Remember to let me know your exam board and the content you are struggling with.
Hope I'll be able to help and I look forward to meeting you!
