I have recently completed my MSc in Environmental Change and Management at Oxford University, attending the world`s #1 ranking geography department for the sixth year running (Times Higher Education). Previously, I have completed a Bachelors (with first class honours) in Climate Sciences from the University of East Anglia. This was an accredited Royal Meteorological Society degree run in close conjunction with the University's groundbreaking Climate Research Unit.

About my sessions

The majority of online sessions can be expected to reflect the time honoured tutorial system. The majority of online sessions can be expected to reflect the time honoured tutorial system. The first session will cover broadly the topics relevant to the student, identifying areas that are of interest to the student or need strengthening for examinations if relevant. Building on this, subsequent sessions will generally comprise a structured mix of:

- cover core material and theory with the aim of building a solid understanding around an issue (expected for examination tutoring and studies at early undergraduate level and below).

-cover supplementary material in the process of building discussion and adding nuance to a student`s understanding (expected for improving coursework and for higher level students at A-level and above).

For students interested in longer term engagements it will be highly beneficial to construct a tailored class structure (c. 5-9 lessons).

Learning outside of the classroom is strongly encouraged, generally at the start of each class a quick discussion session on topical environmental matters initiated by the student`s learning will be undertaken. In addition at its most effective this can include homework set and marked by the tutor (at an agreed upon surcharge) including numerical problems, short answer questions, essays where appropriate.

Discussions of student written work is also available (in accordance with ethics considerations).

Edward is very good at explaining environmental science backed up with professional knowledge. He helped me a lot in terms of unpacking exam-style questions and providing extra knowledge in an expansion of what we learned in class. Overall it has been a brilliant experience and I definitely have a lot to thanks him for revising ESS in such an effective way.
