Hiya! My Name is Chloe and i'm 19 years old and I'm studying Psychology at the University of Birmingham. A great advantage of my age is that i've only recently sat the A level exams, and I was the first cohort to sit the new A level format, and so I am very familiar with the current exam style and layout needed to achieve the top grades - I achieved an A*. I absolutely love my subject, Psychology, and love working with students of all ages and abilities - I have also gained experience in my previous school of working with children with additional needs. My personal aim, when tutoring any individual, is to maximise there potential and make them feel comfortable and prepared when it comes round to entering the exam hall.

About my sessions

I would take the time in the first tutoring session, to find out what the student wants to gain from the sessions. Whether this is firming up their knowledge of the syllabus or working on exam style technique and practice questions. I would then construct a plan for that individual so that every week we are working on an area they feel is necessary and the student knows in advance what area we will be working on so they can prepare there many questions and concerns. Whether this is firming up their knowledge of the syllabus or working on exam style technique and practice questions. I would then construct a plan for that individual so that every week we are working on an area they feel is necessary and the student knows in advance what area we will be working on so they can prepare there many questions and concerns. I'd measure progress by using past exam questions to test the students progress and understanding after we've worked through the topic. I think this is important as this is how the student will be assessed in the end, and thus the more questions practiced, the more comfortable the student will feel in the exam. I think it is important to encourage learning by taking a positive approach and telling the student that 'they can'. As when a student believes in their ability, they're already half way there.
