About me

Hi there!,

Studying languages has allowed me to do this and I have been fortunate enough to have studied at a university in France as well as having had many jobs over the summers in France. Languages can really open lots of doors for you and I want to show you this!. Languages give you lots of transferable skills such as analytical skills and creativity that you can apply to a variety of jobs My experiences in France have been really rewarding and really heightened my enthusiasm for languages. About my sessions

I think its important to really tailor your lessons to the students needs in asking them what they are struggling with specifically in school and coming up with ways of dealing with them. I think its important to really tailor your lessons to the students needs in asking them what they are struggling with specifically in school and coming up with ways of dealing with them. I would carefully structure my lessons in recapping what was covered the previous lesson at the start of each lesson so that I am sure the student has retained the information. In the first lesson, I would gauge the students language level by asking them to describe a scenario (e.g. describe a summer holiday you went on), in order for me to really focus my teaching to the students needs. I would also ask how certain concepts were explained by their teachers in order to enable me to establish an alternative approach that might better help them to understand. I will always think of strategies that helped me in school to overcome problems for example learning vocabulary or tense endings. Much of languages involves learning set rules which seem boring at first, so I will endeavour to use innovative learning methods that make language learning more enjoyable. I would set targets for my students (e.g. learn 10 words in a certain category by next week, or how to decline a verb) in order to give them a goal to work towards. A lot of teaching at schools shy away from teaching things like the subjunctive, seeing it as too challenging for school students but I think its important to grasp these concepts as they will stand the students in good stead for university.
