Hi, I’m Hannah and I am a second year Optometry student at Cardiff University. Let me start by saying “I’ve been there – I’ve been in your shoes!” and having gone through GCSEs, A-Levels and first year university exams, I know first-hand the stress and struggle that comes during exam seasons. That’s why it is my goal to make your journey through what can be a daunting time, as smooth and supportive as possible.
I am available to tutor both Maths and English Literature at GCSE but also for any one-off sessions regarding more specific topics, such as revision techniques. My tutor sessions will be entirely based on your requests; just let me know the topics you would like to cover and I will do my very best to help you achieve your personal academic ambitions.
I, myself, was tutored through MyTutorWeb during my A-Levels. I found it so helpful with furthering both my knowledge and confidence and I believe it is down to the help I received that I managed to secure my place at Cardiff University. Lets look at the example: Factorise 3x+21
In order to factorise this equation, we need to find a common factor of both 3x and 21. For this equation, the common factor is 3 and so this is the number that goes outside the brackets.
We then need to work out how many times 3 goes into 3x and 21. We know that 3x ÷ 3 = x, and 21 ÷ 3 = 7. Therefore, 3x+21 can be factorised to give 3(x+7)
Lets look at the same example but in reverse order: Expand 3(x+7)
This is the opposite of factorising and so now we need to multiply each term inside the brackets by the number outside the brackets.
First we need to multiply 3 by x which gives us 3x.
Then we multiply 3 by 7 which gives us 21.
Our final expansion is: 3x+21see more
