Hello!

From environmental hazards and cities adapting to climate change to emerging economies and globalisation, you can explore lots in Geography whilst questioning the world around you. All these topics can be tricky to grapple with when it comes to exams - hence why I wanted to help!

I experimented with materials and processes on an Art Foundation course. Using mistakes, managing schedules and collaborating with others who critique your work in order to generate a final piece have influenced the way I approach challenges - tips I am keen to pass on. My resulting interactive sculpture was exhibited at a UAL show at the Oxo Tower, London.

My interests are vast so have done 2 cycles of UCAS applications (!) when deciding which course to take - making me a whizz at writing Personal Statements. They are not as daunting as the blank piece of paper in front of you is suggesting! I can help shape your writing to reflect you and break it down so it is original + competitive + succinct.

Within my UCAS choices, I took a leap at applying to Cambridge and then Oxford. I have therefore been through the personal statement editing and Geography interview process at both institutions. I was successful in getting places in consecutive years (though decided on Manchester). So I have an odd, but unique insight here and happy to make this process enjoyable!

Personal Statements:

These can be daunting - but I have done quite a few and so am quite experienced here! Maybe you are struggling to start? I can help you with translating your motivations and interests onto paper in an engaging way. You may need help making it a competitive profile of why you want to study the course? I can help in aiding you to show flow and originality.

Academic: (English/Geography)

We will identify and strengthen sticking points; improve your essay writing for exams (structure, examples and analysis); manage the content of the syllabus together and also guide (the dreaded) revision! Having regular sessions can help structure your week and time toward exams, motivate you and increase your confidence. If you are stuck on a concept, we can re-angle your thinking through different visual learning approaches too - or whichever works for you.

Art:

My art foundation training taught me to push materials, experiment and try new things - sometimes that is what you need to do in order to break out of creating something 'perfect' and struggling with deadlines as creative subjects are time consuming. I will encourage to explore new materials, suggest artists comparisons and new techniques to breakdown and build up your work.
