Hello!

My name is Aditya and I'm incredibly excited to be part of the MyTutor community. I'm originally from India but I've had the privilege to live all over the world and meet people from all walks of life. I'm currently studying Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh. I absolutely love mathematics. It's the language of the universe, and it's incredibly beautiful. I'm also fascinated by computer science and its applications in so many industries, particularly with the potential for technologies like AI that can truly change the world. I didn't always love math - in fact, I used to hate it! But over time, my mentor at school helped me develop my skills into the mathematician I am today. These factors, among others, motivated me to study this at university. I also really enjoy the liberal arts, and I'm taking philosophy classes in university as well. I've been tutoring students for a few years now at my school and I'm excited to bring my passion to the MyTutor community. In my free time, I'm very involved in astronomy and astrophotography, I play two musical instruments, and I'm a part of a number of clubs and societies at university.

I look forward to working with you achieve your dreams!

About my sessions

My personal goal as a math tutor is to help develop my students into good mathematicians. Part of being a good mathematician is knowing your weak spots and the gaps in your knowledge. I will provide exercises and problems that will help you master the concepts you have difficulty with and I can also help you stay ahead by teaching you material in advance so that school is a lot more like revision, and it's reinforced. At the end of each lesson, we’ll do a quick review of where we are, where you want to get to, and what we want to do next time. So whether it’s filling gaps in your knowledge or learning new concepts, you’ve come to the right place!

English is a tough subject to improve in, and so I am more than happy to help you along your way. So if you need feedback on that essay you just wrote, send it to me and we’ll discuss it during the lesson. We’ll also discuss strategies on how to write good essays, how to tackle exam questions, and how to plan effectively. English is all about relating language and literature to the human condition - and it’s a fascinating subject to study.

Communication is key. For the students I've taught in the past, I would frequently check in with them to make sure they were learning, filling gaps in their knowledge, and on track to achieve their goals. I’ll also put together resources and problems to enhance your skills. If there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that you can achieve anything with a solid plan!

Having Aditya as my tutor really helps me grasp topics easily and quickly. During a lesson with Aditya, he gets down to the points that you are struggling with as a student and explains them very precisely and with great efficiency. Aditya also follows a plan during the lesson with a small introduction then example questions and following up at the end with a conclusion. I recommend Aditya as a tutor.
