About me

I’m in the 2nd year of my PhD, drawing upon my strong interest in Politics, Law, Sociology and Criminology. I’m fascinated by these subjects because they reach into so many areas of life. I enjoy exploring both sides of debates, and my thirst for knowledge helps me get to the heart of issues.

I also have previous experience in the Criminal Justice System as a Probation Officer, developing insights into the real world application of my subjects.

I want to help students fulfil their potential by reinvigorating - or awakening! - their joy of learning, and really building their confidence. I will work with them to help them achieve their ambitions by pushing them that bit further, so they can feel much more confident approaching assignments.

I'll work to help students strengthen their skills in critical thinking, research and analysis. This will include encouraging more questioning, so that asking and answering ‘Why’ becomes a habit. I will aim to encourage them to think more holistically, to understand how a topic links with the bigger picture, and what the real-world consequences are. I aim to strengthen their effective use of theories and evidence by helping them test their ideas, and seeing how they fit into their overall grasp of the subject, so they can build effective, well-structured arguments.

I’ll aim to encourage better use of evidence and theories, critical thinking, and better planning of answers.
