About me

My name is Bozhidara and I am a student in the University of Manchester where I study physics with astrophysics. I have been very interested in physics for a very long time and I am quite passionate about it. I find our universe to be fascinating and I want to spend my life exploring it. Physics does just that - explores the universe.

I am also very passionate about tutoring. I know what impact my teachers and tutors have had on me and I want to do everything in my power to help as many people the same way my teachers have helped me.

Applying to university was long and stressful process for me as it is for many people, but the truth is it doesn’t need to be, and I will be more than happy to help with personal statements as well as with physics. I took very different examinations in high school since I am from Bulgaria (for example all my exams were 4 hours long!) but I have also participated in a lot of competitions, which means I have good experience with all kinds of exams.

About my sessions

In my experience the most important thing you need to solve a physics problem is the confidence to approach it. In the past I used to get scared if I saw a problem that seemed too hard but in most cases problems that seem complicated just require the right approach. Sometimes that approach may not be obvious but don’t worry! That is exactly why I am here! To help students learn the right approach to every question or even better-to teach them how to find it themselves.

My lessons would usually start with a summary of previous topics and/or revision of key concepts needed for the current lesson. That would be followed by the lesson itself and then I would work with the student through as many important examples as possible. However, the whole point of having one-on-one tutorials is to have lessons tailored to the student’s personal needs so If this structure doesn’t work for someone I will be more than happy to make changes

Questions Bozhidara has answered

What is the difference between velocity and speed?

Both the speed and the velocity show us how fast something is moving (the rate at which it changes its position). However, velocity is a vector quantity, which means it also gives us information about the direction of movement while the speed is a scalar and it is the modulus of the velocity. Both the speed and the velocity show us how fast something is moving (the rate at which it changes its position).
