About me

My name is Lauren, and I'm currently studying psychology at university.

I chose to study psychology because I find it incredibly interesting, it is required for my career plans and it has relevance to a whole variety of other subjects. There is nothing more complex and interesting than the thoughts and behavior of people.

I chose to study psychology because I find it incredibly interesting, it is required for my career plans and it has relevance to a whole variety of other subjects. There is nothing more complex and interesting than the thoughts and behavior of people.

I also have some experience in this area, as II have spent some time volunteering in a SEN school for children with severe learning difficulties, which has been the most rewarding experience.

This is also why I am wanting to pursue a career in educational psychology.

I am passionate about both learning new things myself and helping others to learn new things. This is not just in the academic sense, as I demonstrate how to hand-loom weave at a museum. This role also involves answering any questions that may arise.

Also, I have lots of experience at preparing for and sitting exams, so I have uncovered various techniques that are very effective.

I spent lots of time volunteering with children in various environments. For example, I was a reading mentor at my local school, helping pupils to gain more confidence in their reading ability, I also spent time running themed workshops for children in my local library.

When I'm not studying for university I am often knee deep in mud helping to look after the various animals that my family has acquired over the years.

About my sessions

I understand that everyone learns in different ways, so I will spend time finding out what works for each of my students. These goals are a great way to measure progress, because if they are not met, a discussion to why can occur, and a...

I understand that everyone learns in different ways, so I will spend time finding out what works for each of my students. The beginning of each lesson will be spent establishing a goal, this could be something large, for example going over a topic that the student is having difficulty understanding, or something small, such as revising a theory that comes up a lot in exams.

These goals are a great way to measure progress, because if they are not met, a discussion to why can occur, and a smaller and more manageable goal can be set. This is important because what one person my find easy, another may find more difficult.

When it comes to exam times, I know lots of different techniques that are very effective, and I promise to be a pillar of support right up until the final exam.
